MK testing in iceland. The goal was simple: how to make the warmest jacket possible. It took 5 years of development. The – 40° are not a joke. 7 layers ( 2 Nano-structured outer shells crossed, 2×700 down padding crossed, double membrane, macrofleece with coating). The inner macro lining was filled with heating pads on back, shoulders, chest and top pockets. The outer shell fabrics and threads due to their Nano structure would repel water droplets before freezing point. This technology does not exist yet for the market – but it s mindblowing. The shoulder construction included a T-shaped frame with a slight lift in order to insure no point contact and to distribute general weight most evenly possible. The phase 2 and 3 prototypes were the absolute bomb. We used part of the technologies for outerwear. The original never made it into production – retail price would have been over 10,000.- usd. Quite a bit for a jacket. Might as well stay inside.
